The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized the international community for its failure to enforce decisions by global organizations aimed at stopping Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip. According to the ministry, this inaction is enabling further crimes by Israeli authorities against the Palestinian people, following a recent Israeli military strike on the Al-Mawasi area near Khan Yunis in Gaza.
“The international community’s failure to implement rulings and resolutions from organizations, including the International Court of Justice, which demand an end to Israeli aggression against Palestinians, incites Israeli authorities to commit new mass crimes against the Palestinian people,” the ministry said in a statement. It highlighted that the bombing of Al-Mawasi, killing over 40 and injuring around 60, represents a new escalation in military actions, consistent with Israel’s strategy to make Gaza uninhabitable.
The ministry further stressed that “the only way to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip is through an immediate ceasefire and the creation of conditions necessary to finalize a prisoner exchange deal” involving hostages held in Gaza and Palestinians in Israel.
The Israeli army launched an attack on a Palestinian refugee camp in the Al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza on Tuesday night. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the strike targeted senior members of Hamas, who were allegedly stationed in a headquarters located within a humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis. Hamas denied the presence of its fighters in the refugee camp.
