Russian President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in a telephone conversation on Thursday, April 1, raised among other things the topic of OPEC+. The president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said this on Friday.
"The topic of OPEC+ was touched upon during this conversation, we appreciate the trusting and very effective nature of our interaction with Riyadh," the Kremlin spokesman said.
He also answered in the affirmative when asked if the Russian leader had been reported to the results of Thursday's OPEC+ ministerial meeting. "Of course," Peskov said.
On Thursday afternoon, the Kremlin press service reported following the phone conversation that the Russian President and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including environmental protection and green energy. The conversation took place at the initiative of the Saudi side.
Following the results of the meeting of the relevant ministers of OPEC+ oil exporting countries held on Thursday, it was decided to gradually increase production: in May by 350 thousand barrels per day, in June by 350 thousand barrels per day, in July by 450 thousand barrels per day. Saudi Arabia will also loosen its voluntary reduction of oil production. Russia will increase oil production in May-July by a total of 114 thousand barrels per day in equal installments.
