Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed via the phone their cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus infection, including the supply of Russian vaccines, the Kremlin press service reports.
‘They have discussed in detail topical issues of the bilateral agenda, first of all, prospects for further development of trade, economic and humanitarian ties, as well as cooperation in fighting the spread of the coronavirus infection, including the supply of Russian vaccines. The Syrian President has expressed his deep gratitude to Russia for its comprehensive support and assistance to the Syrian people’, the statement says.
The exchange of views on the situation in Syria also focused on the advancement of the inter-Syrian peace process through the work of the Constitutional Committee.
In addition, Assad briefed on the preparations for the presidential elections scheduled for May.
The parties have agreed on further contacts at different levels.
