The Religious Board of Muslims of Russia has developed a graphic symbol of the contribution of Muslims to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
As Damir Mukhetdinov, First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board, said in an interview for TASS, the symbol will be used in the publications and in visual materials.
“A series of monographs on the participation of Muslims in the Great Patriotic War, emblems, banners and so on are being prepared. This symbol will be actively introduced into our working documents, into publishing <...> I think that our initiative will be taken up by creative intelligentsia as well, ”the religious leader noted in particular.
The image is based on the Koranic verse and the form of the military helmet used in Russia.
“Those who died defending the Fatherland, according to the tradition of Islam, are considered to have died on the path of Allah, ” added Mukhetdinov.
The emblem, according to him, was developed by calligrapher Sergey Sorochiev.
“The emblem in memory of the heroic contribution of the Muslim population of the Soviet Union to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is visually consistent with the national symbols of the 75th anniversary of the Victory. This is a new, Russian in form and Islamic in a content symbol that reflects the memory of the heroes of their homeland, veneration of the feat of the truly immortal defenders of the Fatherland and the liberators of the world from fascism, the liberators of their land from the aggressor, ”concluded Mukhetdinov.
