Russia has prospects for military-technical cooperation with Iran, the country is interested in various types of Russian weapons, Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), told reporters on the sidelines of the congress of the Union of Machine Builders on Tuesday.
"We have a long-standing relationship with Iran. We fulfill the contractual obligations that we have had in terms of supplies. There are prospects. <...> Tehran is interested in different nomenclature [of weapons]," he said.
In October 2020, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told the Zvezda TV channel that Iran and Russia have good prospects for developing military-technical cooperation with the end of the UN arms embargo.
