The investigation of American journalist Seymour Hersh on Nord Streams was not sensational and unexpected for Russia, Moscow assumed US involvement. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said this at a press conference on Thursday.
"As for the Seymour Hersh investigation, of course, we have carefully, thoroughly studied his publication. There is nothing sensational and unexpected for us in it," the deputy minister said. - "We assumed the involvement of the United States and at least some of Washington's NATO allies in this outrageous crime, which is an armed attack on a key element of critical infrastructure."
According to Ryabkov, Russia understood before that the West would present the case in a way that "the investigation is ongoing and, until it is completed, interfering in it, much less 'letting Russian specialists near it,' should not be allowed." "It's already difficult to pretend that [the US] is not involved, despite the denials that immediately followed from Washington officials," added the Russian deputy foreign minister.
