The United States has no plans to deploy troops to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, according to US Vice President Kamala Harris.
"We have no intentions, and we haven't formulated any plans to deploy combat troops to Israel or Gaza, period," she stated during an interview broadcast on CBS television on Sunday, in response to a question about the possibility of US troops becoming involved in the Middle East conflict. CBS reported that Harris underscored that the US is not dictating Israel's actions but is offering guidance, equipment, and diplomatic support.
"Israel unquestionably has the right to defend itself," Harris said, emphasizing the need to differentiate between Hamas and the Palestinian civilian population. She pointed out that the US has "clearly communicated that the laws of war must be upheld, and humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those in need."
