The World Health Organization (who) will supply medical equipment to Lebanon at the expense of Russia, first Deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Chupriyan told reporters on Friday.

"The WHO will use Russia's money to help with medical equipment," he said.

After visiting the camp operational group of EMERCOM of Russia in Beirut Chupriyan arrived at the scene of the explosion in the port city. Here, Russian rescuers told him about the work carried out. The Deputy Minister held a meeting with the Director General of the General Directorate of civil defense of Lebanon, Reymoun Khattar, who thanked the Russian Ministry of emergency situations for their help and handed him a letter of thanks.

Emergency responders arrived in Beirut on August 5 to help victims of the explosion at the port and participate in a search and rescue operation. At the stadium, Russian specialists deployed a mobile hospital, where doctors of the "Centrospas" detachment of the EMERCOM of Russia received victims. During the work, rescuers found and extracted the bodies of 10 people from the rubble. On August 13, representatives of the EMERCOM of the Russian Federation and the leadership of the GO and emergency situations of Lebanon signed an act on the completion of the work of Russian rescuers and doctors. As Chupriyan said on Friday, the operational group of the Ministry of emergency situations fully fulfilled its tasks.
