Iran will settle the formalities to establish a free trade zone (FTZ) with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) within one month. Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and head of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization Alireza Peyman-Pak said on Wednesday.
"Considering that within a month the final arrangements and formalities of Iran's presence in the EEU will be over, this could be a positive factor that will affect joint cooperation," he said at the Russian Industrialist international forum taking place in St. Petersburg.
According to the deputy minister, Iran is also interested in creating a free economic zone in partnership with the Eurasian Economic Union and is ready to provide its seaports' infrastructure for implementation of relevant projects.
On November 1, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia and Iran have agreed to sign an agreement on free trade zone with the EEU in the near future.
The Russian Industrialist international forum-exhibition devoted to the measures of state support of industry in the modern conditions and import substitution is taking place in St. Petersburg. More than 220 high-tech industrial enterprises, development institutes and technical universities from more than 35 Russian regions and 10 countries take part in the forum: Abkhazia, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan as well as countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
