During a state visit of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Astana, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed 15 agreements. The press service of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reported on the outcomes of the visit.
The signed documents include:
- A joint statement by the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
- A decision by the Supreme Interstate Council of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the further development of bilateral cooperation.
- A decision by the Supreme Interstate Council approving the regulations for the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
Additionally, the two governments agreed on:
- The regime for the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.
- Cooperation in agriculture.
- Collaboration in healthcare.
- A plan of action for cultural and humanitarian cooperation between 2024 and 2025.
Several other documents were also signed, covering areas such as economic cooperation, competition policy, and culture.
