4 people died as a result of the emergency landing of Mi-8 in Chukotka

The Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Air Force made a hard landing near Ugolnye Kopi airfield in Chukotka, the crew was killed, the Ministry of Defense reports. In total, four people were crash victims.


The incident, according to the military department, occurred at about 05:00 am Moscow time while performing a training flight.


According to preliminary data, the cause could be a technical malfunction of the helicopter. The Commission of the main command of the VKS is working at the scene of the emergency.


The Mi-8 black boxes have already been found at the crash site, and their condition is satisfactory. Anadyr airport is operating normally after the accident.
