A new group of Russian children is being prepared to be taken home from Syrian camps, the Commissioner for children's rights under the President of the Russian Federation Anna Kuznetsova.
"Now a new group of children is going directly from the camps. When we arrive at the al-Hawl camp, we will find out how many there will be. Our focus on the next trip will be on sick children, because their condition is critical, it needs to be done urgently, as soon as possible. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense and all colleagues are working hard, and the camp's leadership has met halfway to gather children as quickly as possible," Kuznetsova said.
Russian children who were found in the zone of armed conflict are being actively returned to their homeland on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2017, an interdepartmental commission was established under the office of the children's Ombudsman to assist in the return of children who were in the war zone.
