Mahmoud Abbas described upcoming international forum on Palestine in Bahrain as failing

24 June 2019

The international forum on Palestine in the capital of Bahrain, Manama, scheduled for June 25-26, is doomed to failure. This was announced at a press conference in Ramallah by the head of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.

“The Bahrain Forum will not be successful and will not lead to any results, because it is initially built on lies”, - the Palestinian leader emphasized.

Earlier, Palestine refused to participate in the conference. Palestinian example was followed by other Arab countries, including Iraq and Lebanon.

Last weekend Washington unveiled the economic part of the so-called “deal of the century”, which, among other things, provides for investments in Palestine and neighboring countries in the amount of $ 50 billion. More than half of this amount is supposed to be implemented in Palestine: over 100 projects in infrastructure, industry , medicine and education. The remaining funds are planned to be invested in the economies of Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.
