About 30,000 people who have been in a difficult financial situation in the context of the pandemic have already received food aid as part of the Ramadan Kerim Muslim campaign in the capital and other regions of the country.

The campaign, dedicated to the Holy month of Ramadan, as reported by the press service of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, started on May 5 and is held with the blessing of the head of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russian Muftis Council Ravil Gainutdin and with the support of patron Suleiman Kerimov.

"As part of the campaign, single elderly people, the disabled, low-income and large families, people in difficult financial situations, receive food packages. To date, more than 10 thousand packages have been formed and distributed. Given that one package is issued at the rate of 1-3 family members, a family of 4-6 people receives two packages, and so on, at least 30 thousand people have already received assistance," the report says.

The main point of reception and distribution of food packages was the Moscow Cathedral mosque. Here, volunteers unload tons of food, pack them in separate packages, and then deliver them to the addresses of those in need.

According to the organization, more than a thousand packages are delivered by volunteers every day in the capital. Sets for residents of the Moscow region by request are centrally delivered to Muslim communities in the Moscow region, from where they are distributed to addresses.

In addition, 500 sets were distributed through "House of kindness" Charity Fund, the Religious Board of Muslims of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

The Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation noted that applications will be accepted until the end of this week - until the end of the month of Ramadan.

"Currently, the campaign headquarter receives up to 800 applications daily," the Muftiat noted.
