Acting President of Kyrgyzstan stated that the process of power transfer was peaceful

The process of peaceful transfer of power took place in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced on Tuesday during an online meeting of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries by its acting president, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov.


"The transfer of power [in Kyrgyzstan] was peaceful, it was held in strict accordance with the laws of the country. The situation in the republic is stable, all the branches of power are legitimate, and the executive bodies work in the normal mode," Zhaparov said.


According to him, after the change of power in Kyrgyzstan, the republic remains "fully committed to all previously signed bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements". "Participation in the SCO is one of Kyrgyzstan's priorities in its foreign policy," Zhaparov said. The new leadership of the country continues its efforts "to ensure stability in society," he added.


Kyrgyzstan will continue to support Russia's efforts to strengthen Eurasian integration, Zhaparov said. "Kyrgyzstan will remain a reliable partner of Russia in matters of Eurasian integration," he said. According to him, the republic will also continue "to develop comprehensive ties" with Russia. Zhaparov suggested the Russian president discuss these issues in the near future in a telephone conversation.


According to the acting president of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation has provided great assistance to the republic in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection, in particular, by sending teams of doctors and humanitarian aid to Bishkek this summer. "I congratulate Russia on the world's first registered vaccine," Zhaparov said, expressing hope that this vaccine will make a great contribution to the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection in the world.

 


Putin wished the Kyrgyz authorities to maintain long-term and sustainable stability in the country.

Putin expects that the desire of the Kyrgyz authorities to maintain continuity in power will be realized in practice. The Russian president also called an important proposal to join efforts in the fight against economic crime. According to him, nowadays transactions, modern methods of information exchange, startups "are very often at risk, so it is also extremely important to join efforts in this area."
