The so-called spring offensive of the “Taliban” has failed. Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic Asadullah Khalid reported about it, as the resource “Afghanistan.ru” writes.
“This year, the enemies, along with their foreign supporters, could not change anything in Afghanistan. It speaks of your heroism and sacrifices”, the Minister highlighted, speaking at a ceremony to mark the appointment of a new commander of special operations forces in Kabul.
The new Commander of Special Operations, Mohammad Farid Ahmadi, in turn, has urged the militants to abandon the armed struggle and said that the conflict in Afghanistan is in the interests of foreign countries only.
It is known that the Leaders of the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) announced the beginning of the traditional spring offensive on Afghanistan in April. During this time they could not take control of a single new settlement.
