The talks between the Afghan delegation and representatives of some Western countries, including the US, were successful, there was an understanding on some issues and the partial lifting of sanctions imposed on Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister in the interim government of Afghanistan, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

A Taliban delegation visited Oslo from January 23 to 25 for talks with Afghan politicians, civil activists, and diplomats from Norway and several other countries.

"In Oslo, we had meetings with representatives from Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Norway and the United States. Of course, they had concerns and we had demands, but the meetings were successful ... Especially in the negotiations with the US, we made progress on lifting the sanctions," Muttaqi said.

The politician said a number of licenses have been issued that will help bring funds back to Afghanistan.

"And we expect more. As the situation improves, other countries have pledged humanitarian aid, which is already expanding," Muttaqi said.
