A new shipment of humanitarian aid from Russia has arrived in Kandahar Province, according to Abdul Shakkur Haqqani, head of the region's foreign relations department, as reported by the Khaama Press agency.
The delivery included 25 tons of flour. The agency also published a photo showing a Russian Emergencies Ministry plane at Kandahar airport.
On May 16, 21 tons of food, including vegetable oil and wheat flour, were delivered to Afghanistan as part of a humanitarian mission carried out by the Russian Emergencies Ministry on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. That aid was intended for the population of Baghlan Province, which had recently suffered from devastating floods that claimed 400 lives.
