Al Jazeera Vows to Persist in Gaza Conflict Coverage Despite Israeli Ban

06 May

Qatari television network Al Jazeera has pledged to persist in covering the ongoing military conflict in the Gaza Strip, despite being banned by Israeli authorities. This commitment was conveyed through a message published on the broadcaster's English-language website.

"Al Jazeera condemns Israel's actions in shutting down the TV channel <...> and pledges to continue reporting on the war in Gaza despite the ban," stated the announcement.

The network further disclosed that following searches conducted by Israeli police at its offices in Jerusalem, "the channel has halted operations."

Earlier, the Israeli government made the decision to shut down the Al Jazeera TV channel within the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the government unanimously agreed on this decision, labeling the channel's activities as provocative. Israeli police conducted raids on the company's offices in Jerusalem and confiscated equipment.
