Representatives of the Syrian government and the Russian interdepartmental delegation, which visited Damascus recently, fully agreed on the composition of the Constitutional Committee of Syria. "Al-Watan" newspaper reported it with reference to own source.
According to the media source, during the talks, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Russian delegation consisting of Russia's Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin agreed on "the personalities and proportions of the Constitutional Committee members".
However, the way of its functioning is still under discussion.
Earlier, Russian President's special envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that the formation of the constitutional Committee of Syria is planned to be completed in September.
