Algeria's Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf is set to embark on a series of working visits to Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin to address the Niger crisis. The Algerian foreign ministry shared this news on its official page on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
"As per the directive of the President of the Republic, Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf will commence a series of working visits to ECOWAS member nations, namely Nigeria, Benin, and Ghana, starting this Wednesday. The purpose of these visits is to engage in consultations with his counterparts," stated the announcement.
The Algerian foreign ministry also highlighted that the consultations will center around the crisis in Niger and the formulation of a political resolution to prevent any further escalation within the country and the broader region.
