Algeria's National People's Army Chief of Staff Said Chengriha has arrived in Russia for a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Algerian embassy in Moscow told TASS.
"We can confirm that he has already arrived in Russia, having come the day before," said the agency's spokesperson.
He also confirmed that a meeting with Shoigu is expected.
In June, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited Russia on a state visit and participated in a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 16. Additionally, Algerian Prime Minister Ayman Benabderrahmane led the Algerian delegation at the Russia-Africa summit held in St. Petersburg on July 27-28.
