Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed that Azerbaijan and Russia are experiencing a highly successful strengthening of their relations following the signing of a declaration on allied cooperation between the two nations. He made these remarks during the Global Media Forum in Shusha, focusing on the theme of "New Media in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era."
Aliyev acknowledged that the period since signing the declaration has been entirely new for both countries and the world, marked by significant changes in the geopolitical landscape. However, despite these challenges, the development of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan has been remarkably successful.
He also highlighted the extensive contacts at the highest levels, including heads of government, foreign policy departments and other government representatives, which have played a crucial role in implementing the points of the declaration. Aliyev emphasized the presence of strong political will from the leadership of both countries to drive the successful execution of the declaration.
According to the president of Azerbaijan, the declaration, signed in February 2022, represents a pivotal stage in the development of Russia-Azerbaijan relations. It encompasses the historical development of their relations, which have evolved differently during periods of independence but have consistently aimed at establishing a strategic partnership. Both countries have demonstrated a commitment to strengthening cooperation and achieving concrete results in their collaborative efforts.
President Aliyev expressed his confidence that the future of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan will continue to be positive and successful, building upon the achievements of the past years.
The Declaration on Allied Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation was signed by the heads of state on February 22, 2022.
