Aliyev and Pashinyan arrive at CIS summit

Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan arrived in St. Petersburg on Monday to participate in an informal CIS summit. This was reported by the press services of the heads of the states.


According to the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers, Pashinyan is accompanied by his wife Anna Hakobyan and their younger daughter Arpi.


At Pulkovo airport, Aliyev and Pashinyan were met by St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov and Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko.


Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday that Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders Vladimir Putin, Aliyev and Pashinyan are not planning to hold a trilateral meeting during the informal summit.


Russia has repeatedly mediated in the resolution of conflicts between Baku and Yerevan. And, as representatives of the Russian authorities have repeatedly noted, Moscow continues to assist in resolving the situation.
