Aliyev confident that relations between Azerbaijan and Russia will strengthen

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Russia Day, expressing confidence in further strengthening of relations between the two countries.


"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the state holiday - Russia Day. The centuries-old ties of friendship and good-neighborliness linking our peoples are a reliable foundation for the progressive development of Azerbaijan-Russia strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. The cooperation of our countries on a wide range of issues of bilateral agenda causes particular satisfaction," reads the congratulatory message published on Sunday on the website of the president of Azerbaijan.


The message notes that the signing of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between the two countries in February this year cemented the high level of interstate ties that have developed over the past thirty years."

 

"I am sure that by joint efforts, the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation will continue to steadily strengthen and expand for the benefit of our peoples and countries," the telegram stresses.


Aliyev wished Putin good health, happiness and success, and to the friendly people of Russia - well-being and prosperity.
