Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for Promoting Normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations Igor Khovayev on Tuesday, the website of the Azerbaijani head of state reports.
"The meeting involved an exchange of views on the process of negotiations on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the preparation of a peace treaty," the report reads.
It was reported that Igor Khovayev informed the Azerbaijani president about his visit to the region and the steps taken by Russia to support the process of negotiations on the preparation of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Touching upon bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, President Aliyev stressed with satisfaction that cooperation is successfully developing in various spheres," the report said.
