Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is confident that relations between his country and Russia will develop successfully.
"We are sure that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan will develop successfully for the benefit of our countries and peoples," the leader of Azerbaijan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday on the margins of the sixth Caspian Summit in Ashgabat.
Aliyev noted the growth of trade turnover between the two countries, the development of relations in terms of industrial cooperation, in the transport and energy sectors. "Today will be an opportunity to talk about the situation in the framework of regional issues, the settlement of regional conflicts," he added.
According to the president of Azerbaijan, a meeting with Putin "is always very important" for bilateral relations.
