Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that his country does not need a new war with Armenia.
"We do not need a new war. We have achieved our objectives, restored international law, reestablished historical justice, and reclaimed our national honor, firmly placing the enemy in their rightful place," Aliyev declared during his speech at a military parade in Khankendi, Nagorno-Karabakh, commemorating the third anniversary of Azerbaijan's victory in the Second Karabakh War. Aliyev's speech was published by the state news agency AzerTag.
According to Aliyev, all of the country's objectives have been successfully met. He added, "However, the development of our armed forces will continue to remain a top priority. Let it be known to all, and do not forget this," emphasized the Azerbaijani leader.
