The Ministry of Defense released data on the number of infected with coronavirus among cadets, employees of military universities and civilian personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
According to the Ministry, COVID-19 was detected in 874 Russian military personnel from March to April 26.
"In the course of continuous testing in the Russian Armed Forces in the period from March to April 26, 874 cases gave positive results [of the coronavirus test]," the statement reads, in particular.
314 people are being treated in hospitals of the Ministry of Defense, and another 175 are in isolation rooms at the place of service. Six are in civilian hospitals, and 379 infected people are isolated at home.
Earlier it became known that the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoygu instructed to finish the academic year in military universities ahead of schedule.
According to the latest data, a total of 87,147 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Russia. 7346 people recovered, and 794 died.
