15 April 2019

In Moscow a meeting was held between the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov and Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan in Moscow Nadir Babiker. According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was held at the request of the Sudanese side.

The latest developments in the Republic were discussed during the negotiations. At the same time, the Sudanese Ambassador underlined that the change of government in Khartoum didn’t affect the Foreign Policy of Sudan - the country is still focusing on further strengthening of friendship and mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation with Russia.

Bogdanov, in turn, reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to the conviction of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and also expressed hope for an early stabilization of the situation in Sudan “in the interests of ensuring security and the ongoing socio-economic development of Sudanese society”.
