Ambassador of Tajikistan and the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed increasing exports of Tajik products to Russia

Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia Davlatshoh Gulmakhmadzoda and President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sergey Katyrin met on Tuesday to discuss trade and economic cooperation, including increasing exports of goods from Tajikistan to Russia. This was reported by the press center of the Tajik diplomatic mission in Russia.


"During the conversation, they discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation. <...> The sides paid special attention to the issue of increasing exports of goods from Tajikistan to Russia," the statement said. According to the embassy, Gulmahmazoda and Katyrin noted the need to continue business forums and trade exhibitions where Tajik and Russian entrepreneurs could discuss the possibility of increasing trade turnover and share experiences.


The two sides expressed a mutual willingness to help intensify business contacts between Tajikistan and Russia to strengthen economic cooperation.


According to the Russian Trade Mission in Tajikistan, the trade turnover between the two countries in 2021 exceeded $ 1.3 billion, and the Tajik products in Russia were delivered for $ 72.5 million.
