Uzbekistan has received a new batch of 135,875 doses of the Sputnik Light vaccine from the Russian Federation. This was reported to TASS on Monday by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the republic.
"Another batch of 135,875 doses of the Sputnik Light vaccine was delivered to Uzbekistan, while the republic received a total of 343,375 doses of the drug," a representative of the ministry said.
According to him, about 45 million doses of various preparations have already been used for vaccination against coronavirus in the republic with a population of 35 million people.
Mass vaccination of the population in Uzbekistan began in April. The Russian vaccine Sputnik V, whose production has been launched in the republic, as well as a drug produced in India under license from the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, a vaccine from the Chinese firm Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical and American drugs Moderna and Pfizer are used for this purpose.
According to the latest data, 235,427 cases of infection with coronavirus were registered in Uzbekistan, 227,423 patients (96%) were cured and 1,621 died.
