Antalya Hosts Early Voting for Russian Presidential Election with High Turnout

11 March

In Antalya province, Turkey, early voting for the Russian presidential election has been conducted in three cities, with over 500 individuals casting their votes, the Russian Consulate General in Antalya told TASS.

"In the cities of Alanya, Marmaris, and Kemer, more than 500 people participated in early voting. We anticipate that on March 17, the day of the main election, at least 2,000 voters will cast their ballots in Antalya itself, a figure that has been consistent in previous years. Turkish law enforcement agencies ensured the security of the three polling stations for early voting, with police patrols and security forces closely monitoring the situation at the polling stations," the diplomatic mission reported.

The consulate general commended the "highly professional work on security by the Turkish police officers."

Organizers of the voting, which included "compatriots and parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church temple in Antalya," welcomed voters with Russian folk songs, dances, and traditional Russian sweets. The voting process proceeded smoothly without any incidents.

The Federation Council has set the Russian presidential elections for March 17, 2024, spanning three days: March 15, 16, and 17.
