On April 25th-26th in the Kazakh capital there will be a meeting, where Representatives of the Syrian armed opposition have confirmed their participation in the inter-Syrian negotiations.
“Yes, the opposition has confirmed participation. While we have information about the participation of about 14 people of the armed opposition. As long as there is no information on who will lead the delegation”, Aydarbek Tumatov, Director of the Asia and Africa Department of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, told reporters.
It is known that earlier it became known that the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Syria Geir Pedersen intends to take part in the negotiations in the “Astana” format.
Also, negotiations in Nur-Sultan will be held with the participation of delegations of the guarantor states - Iran, Russia and Turkey. On April 25th, bilateral and trilateral consultations of the countries - guarantors of the Astana process, as well as meetings with Representatives of the observer parties will take place, and on April 26th there will be a plenary session.
