Syrian President Bashar al-Assad highlighted the longstanding and trustworthy relations between Russia and Syria during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 24.
Al-Assad noted that his visit coincided with the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"Over the past decades, our countries have faced very difficult challenges. These decades have witnessed complex transformation processes within our nations. However, throughout these years, relations between our countries have remained at a trusting level, which is a testament to the maturity of our peoples," al-Assad stated.
He emphasized the importance of the current global events, particularly those in the Eurasian region, and stressed the significance of his meeting with Putin to discuss these developments, potential prospects, and scenarios.
According to the Kremlin website, the meeting took place the previous evening in Moscow, though the details were published today.
