Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview with RIA Novosti that he plans to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the future, now contacts are ongoing by phone.

"We are in constant contact (with Vladimir Putin - ed.) - mainly by phone - whenever something happens or when there is a need to talk. Of course, we will continue to communicate and meet in the future, but it depends on the political situation in Syria," said Assad.

According to him, in the near future, the conversations will be held by phone, as the whole world is paralyzed by the coronavirus pandemic.
