Astana Troika continues to discuss organization of summit in Tehran

The countries of the Astana Troika (Russia, Iran and Turkey) continue consultations on organizing a summit in Tehran, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali stated in an interview with TASS.


He recalled that a meeting of foreign ministers of the Astana format guarantors was previously planned for March 10 in Antalya. "The issue of holding a summit in the Astana format in Tehran is also on the agenda, consultations among the three countries are continuing on this issue," the diplomat said.


Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on March 16 that Moscow and Ankara support the decision to convene a trilateral summit in the Astana format to be held in Tehran this year.
