In March, Azerbaijan resumes regular direct flights to Iran. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the Buta Airways of Azerbaijan.
"Starting from March 4, the Azerbaijani low-cost airline Buta Airways resumes flights between Baku and Tehran, ceased due to the coronavirus pandemic," it was reported.
According to the airline, special flights from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to Tehran and back will be performed once a week - on Fridays. The airline said that the categories of passengers who are allowed to fly under the current epidemiological restrictions will be accepted for transportation.
It was noted that the citizens of Azerbaijan, planning to travel to Iran, should have the right to enter the territory of this country. Iranian citizens entering the territory of Azerbaijan should present a valid document on the full course of vaccination against COVID-19, as well as undergo PCR-testing for coronavirus infection, the results of which should be valid for 72 hours before flight departure.
Regular flights between Azerbaijan and Iran were interrupted at the end of February 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. On Tuesday, February 15, the Azerbaijani government reduced sanitary requirements for Iranian citizens arriving in the country by air, canceling the need for a special permit from the Operational Headquarters under the government of the republic.
Buta Airways is Azerbaijan's first low-cost carrier, a structural subdivision within the national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines.
