Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Buta Airways resumed flights to Russia on Wednesday after a more than three-month break.
Earlier AZAL's press service reported that since June 15, the airlines will operate flights from Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Mineralnye Vody and Kazan.
AZAL will fly to Moscow's Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports on a daily basis. Flights from Baku to St. Petersburg will be operated twice a week - on Thursdays and Sundays.
Lowcoster Buta Airways will perform flights from the same date with the frequency of twice a week: to Astrakhan on Thursdays and Sundays, to Mineralnye Vody on Tuesdays and Sundays, and to Kazan on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
AZAL and Buta Airways have suspended flights to all Russian cities since March 6 because of the risks associated with the lack of full flight insurance, which was caused by sanctions against Russia.
On Tuesday, the press service of Buta Airways also reported the resumption of flights from Baku to Ufa, which were suspended more than two years ago because of the coronavirus pandemic, starting July 3. The flights will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
