Azerbaijan's State Security Service Foils Terrorist Plot, Arrests Suspect

The State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan has announced the arrest of a man who was planning multiple terrorist attacks within the country.

 

According to the SSS, Azerbaijani citizen Bahruz Askerov had established connections with individuals across various districts of the republic. He allegedly instructed them to organize an assassination attempt on the head of the executive power of Lankaran district. Additionally, Askerov and his accomplices were planning to carry out murders targeting foreign citizens employed as English teachers in several regions of Azerbaijan.

 

Askerov has been apprehended by court order, as stated by the SSS in its report.
