Bahrain has received an invitation to the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, with its delegation to be headed by the Kingdom's Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. This was announced by Bahrain's Ambassador to Moscow, Ahmed Al Saati, during a press conference at TASS dedicated to the prospects of cultural cooperation between Russia and Bahrain.
“We [Bahrain] have indeed received an invitation to participate in this BRICS summit [in Kazan], and the Bahraini delegation will be led by the Kingdom's Foreign Minister,” he confirmed.
The ambassador emphasized that Bahrain accepted the invitation within the framework of the country’s chairmanship of the of Arab League in 2024, as Bahrain is “not yet a member of the BRICS organization.”
“We expect that the summit will be successful, and the Foreign Minister will deliver a speech on behalf of the Arab states,” he added.
Since January 1, 2024, Russia has held the BRICS presidency, which will last until the end of the year. The presidency includes over 200 events, culminating in the BRICS summit in Kazan.
