A recent meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the BRICS summit in Kazan has created a constructive atmosphere for continued peace negotiations, according to Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev, as reported by TASS.
“The meeting in Kazan between President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan was highly productive, and we intend to build on this momentum to advance the negotiations,” Hajiyev stated on the sidelines of the 29th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) in Baku.
The Azerbaijani president's press office also reported that Aliyev believes Baku and Yerevan are nearing a final agreement on the peace treaty’s text. Negotiations are expected to resume after the COP-29 UN climate conference.
