Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received at his residence in Damascus a Russian interdepartmental delegation consisting of Russia's Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and representatives of Russian Defence Ministry.
Central topics for the discussion were the issues of the early completion of the Constitutional Committee formation and its launch.
In addition, the parties discussed the situation "on the ground" in Syria with an emphasis on the need to stabilize the situation in Idlib while continuing the fight against terrorists.
The sides also exchanged views on the tasks of post-conflict reconstruction of Syria and assistance to returning Syrian refugees, as well as ensuring security in the Middle East.
