President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan's Day of Restoration of Independence, noting that the relations between the countries have reached a qualitatively new level.
"Today, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have reached a qualitatively new level of interaction in interstate relations based on friendship, respect and mutual understanding," the message published on Tuesday by the Neytralny Turkmenistan newspaper reads.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that Ashgabat is committed to further cooperation, expansion and deepening of the interstate dialogue that meets the interests of the two countries.
According to the Turkmenistan leader, under Aliyev's leadership "the Republic of Azerbaijan has made significant progress in recent years in the political and socio-economic spheres and today continues its progressive development."
