Bishkek reported that Uzbek border guards shot dead three Kyrgyz citizens on the border

Uzbek soldiers shot and killed three Kyrgyz citizens on the border with Kyrgyzstan. This was reported on Friday by the Border Guard Service of the State Committee of National Security of Kyrgyzstan.


"At the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the state border in the locality of Dobo-Korgon of the Aktam rural administration of the Ala-Buka district of the Jalal-Abad region, Uzbek border guards used weapons against three citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result, three citizens of Kyrgyzstan were wounded and taken to the hospital of Ala-Buka district, where they died of the bullet wounds," the statement says. The names and surnames of the dead are not reported.


After the incident, Kyrgyzstan's border representative for the Ala-Buka direction held a meeting with Uzbekistan's border representative for the Yangi-Kurgan direction, and an agreement was reached to "continue meeting on the results of official investigations."


"The cooperating agencies were also notified about the incident, and investigative measures were initiated," the report stressed.
