Today, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov received the Director General of the PLO Political Department, based in Damascus, Anwar Abdelhadi.
During the conversation, the parties had an in-depth exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East region. Particular attention was paid to the development of the situation in and around Syria, including in the context of the work of the Inter-Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva, as well the Palestinian settlement.
The officials emphazied that there is no alternative to a two-state settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the international legal basis.
