Bogdanov discussed Palestine and Libya with Iran's Ambassador

Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali prospects for resolving the Palestinian problem and finding a solution to the conflict in Libya, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.


"During the conversation, there was a thorough exchange of views on topical issues on the regional agenda, focusing on the prospects for resolving the Palestinian problem based on the principles of international law and finding a solution to the military-political conflict in Libya in the interests of ensuring the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Libyan state," the statement reads.


In Libya, a standoff continues between the Government of National Accord (GNA) of Fayez Sarraj, which controls Tripoli and territories in the West of the country, and the LNA under the command of Marshal Khalifa Haftar, which cooperates with the Parliament sitting in the East. The GNA is supported by Turkey, while the LNA is supported by Egypt.
