Bogdanov discussed situation in Libya with the Ambassadors of Egypt and France

Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister , held a video conversation with Ambassador of France to Russia Pierre Levy and also met with Ambassador of Egypt to Russia Ihab Nasr.

During the conversation at the initiative of the Egyptian side, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Libya and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, with emphasis on the need to consolidate the international community's efforts to counter attempts to destabilize the region.

During the exchange of views with the French diplomat on topical Middle East issues, particular emphasis was placed on the situation in Libya.

At the same time, the sides stressed that there is no alternative to the political settlement of the crisis in that country, the need for an early cessation of hostilities and resumption of inclusive inter-Libyan negotiations on the basis of the decisions of the International Conference on Libya in Berlin of January 19 this year and the UN Security Council resolution 2510 that reinforces them.

The sides also considered the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.
