The Russian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of the Special Presidental Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov with the first Vice-speaker of the Council of Representatives (Parliament) of the Republic of Iraq Hassan al-Kaabi.
During the conversation, they exchanged views on the main aspects of the situation in the Middle East region, with an emphasis on the situation in and around Iraq in the light of the ongoing internal political crisis in that country.
Bogdanov confirmed support for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Iraqi state and noted the importance of achieving a stable inter-Iraqi accord through a comprehensive national dialogue in the interests of all political forces and ethnic and religious groups in the country.
