Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov held telephone talks with Saeb Erekat, the Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee.
The conversation, according to the Russian MFA, was initiated by the Palestinian side.
"During the conversation, the prospects for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement on a well-known international legal basis were discussed", the statement reads.
